Our History
Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. is one of the oldest founding Pentecostal organizations in the United States. It was founded by Bishop GT Haywood in 1906 and became incorporated and held it first council of churches meeting in 1915. PAW, Inc. headquarters is housed in Indianapolis, Indiana. On the grounds of its headquarter. Aenon Bible College is housed. Aenon was founded in is an accredited Bible College that offers a full degree program from certification programs in alliance with PAW Prospectus, all license and ordination training courses, up to on sight and online bachelors and master programs.
The history of PAW is rich; it has had Presiders and will celebrate its 100th year in the beautiful city of Detroit, Michigan at the COBO Convention Center in August 2015. It has over 4000 under its dioceses and covers affiliate churches in 62 countries inclusive of the United States of America. Our current Presiding Bishop is Bishop Charles H. Ellis III, Pastor of City of David, Greater Grace Temple in Detroit, Michigan.
ZCPIM has been an affiliate church with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World for over 75 years. It is a part of the 5th Episcopal District of the PAW, Inc, and is called the Northern District Council of the PAW, INC. Our Diocesan Bishop is Bishop Ira Combs, Jr., who pastors Greater Bibleway Temple in Jackson, Michigan.
All the churches in the Diocesan meet annually: March, June, and October. During these sessions there are opportunities for training and participation in all auxiliaries of ministries. As ministers, these are the times, once recommended by your senior pastor that you can take part in signing up for ministry certification, supporting and getting all licensing and credentialing information, and be established as Minister of the PAW, Inc.
